Jamie Ashman is a climbing instructor & coach based in London and working outdoors throughout the UK.
Jamie started climbing at a young age when his grandad took him climbing at The Roaches and his parents then took him to their local climbing wall, The Castle Climbing Centre in London. After a break from climbing in his teens his passion was reignited with a trad climbing trip to North Wales with Olly.
Soon after he got his RCI and became an instructor at the The Castle, running a wide range of courses and working as a coach with The Youth Squad, several whom have gone on to win national competitions and complete for Britain internationally. He also began working outdoors running trips to the Peak District with Geckos Climbing Ltd.
In the years since, Jamie has gained a number of other qualifications including his CWDI, RCDI and Development Coach Award. With these, along with his knowledge tried and tested in his own training, Jamie took on the role of Head Coach at The Castle Climbing Centre, running The Youth Squad as well as mentoring the other coaches and continuing coaching 1on1 himself.
As well as his indoor work Jamie uses his RCDI to teach Sport and Trad climbing courses at a variety of outdoor venues. He enjoys running bespoke courses for all abilities, whether its core skills for first time climbers or coaching people through the nuances of rock climbing performance.
